What marketing topics do you wish had a step-by-step guide?

Hi y'all!

What I'm finding is that there are often dozens of guides written on the same few topics, and lots of my Indiehacker chats bring up topics that founders don't think to Google because they assume there isn't an answer tailored enough for them.

This year one of my biggest goals is to create more strategy + JTBD-style content for SaaS marketing. It's the kind of thing I bounce out of bed excited to write and speak on (yes, really!) but the best content isn't purely keyword-driven. It's intuition + straight up asking.

So, while I'm planning on writing guides/playbooks based on the SOP's we use at INM for clients, I want to hear from you:

What marketing topics do you wish had a step-by-step guide?

Excited to see if I can help, and if there's a guide I know of, I will send it right on over to ya!

noted! That's something I'm actually going to be working to fix with Tangram, which is a marketing strategy and automation tool I'm working on.

'Building a brand marketing and comms strategy' lacks any real tactical guidance.

The guides I have seen are like "Come up with the narrative", "Think about the channels". Super high level and not at all actionable

Thanks Anneliese! Agreed!! Brand marketing is so poorly explained. As a brand strategist prior to diving into marketing it drives me insane.

By comms strategy, are you referring to content marketing or things like emails or overall messaging strategy? Want to make sure I can effectively write a guide for what you need! :)

I completely agree with you, it's always helpful to have a step-by-step guide for different marketing topics. Your post is a great reminder that not all of us are experts in every aspect of marketing and it's hard to figure out where to start.

I especially liked your point about the importance of testing and measuring the results, as it can be easy to get caught up in the latest marketing trends without knowing if they actually work for your specific business.

I think it would be great to have a step-by-step guide for topics like influencer marketing, building a brand, and creating a content marketing strategy.

Thanks for starting this conversation and encouraging people to share their own thoughts on what marketing topics they would like to have a step-by-step guide for.

Thanks Bucky! Noted for all three topics.

What are your biggest pain points around brand building as it's currently explained?
